I have rung brakes4u and had no luck with the standard OE EBC front discs.

It appears that the part no D7501 has been created but they are so new they do not exist yet, i was also told not to have 'Greenstuff' but go for 'redstuff' front pads.

I did receive a local quote for replacement OE discs and pads but this was left via voicemail and didn't catch the manufacturer but it was something like 'Padget'

discs £60 each
Pads £40 pair
labour £70

Car is in mazda today having 3 new alloys fitted, new shock ( Under warranty) and a price to replace front brakes.

thanks

The discs would have been Pagid - a well known manufacturer which should be perfectly OK if you're happy with OE.

I had slight brain fade when i said redstuff with reference to the EBC pad numbers i quoted - they are in fact yellowstuff which work better with the 6 MPS aparently, although you can get redstuff too and they are probably a little more sensible for road only use.

Re: DBA, i spoke to them direct and they have been producing the 3 & 6 MPS discs for a while now and are happy to supply anything via their distibutors - they just need to ask. Approx 10 days supply time.
Although most of us have never heard of DBA, they have been doing good work for a long time, and are closer to the Japanese tuning market than we are here in Europe.

DBA standard oe Discs are £250 plus vat for fronts
slotted are £320 plus vat.

After all this it is only my pads that need replacing and Mazda quoted £165 so I said no, they then dropped to £137 claiming that the front pads alone are £90, so I agreed. But after giving it some thought I will take it somewhere else and save myself some cash.

Thanks for all your advice!

OK, so I chased up Clarkmotorsport up regarding availability of disks for the 3 & 6 MPS. Please find below confirmation of availability.

I will be ordering a set of 4000 series fronts, and most likely the rears also. If there is sufficient interest would this be a good group buy?

From the other forums they usually like 12 - 16 discs to get it started, so 3 - 8 cars required....

Hi Ben

Yes I did manage to get some stock information, I will list them below:

2960S – In Australia

2961S – In Australia

42960S – In Australia , 3 pairs in Europe next month

42961S – In Australia

2962S - In Australia

2957S - In Australia

42962S – 2 pairs in Europe, further stock in Australia

42957S – In Australia , 3 pairs in Europe next month

The discs that are in Europe can be shipped in a few days, we would also be able to ship discs from Australia via air freight but if you think the owners club would be interested in a group buy then sea fright would be the better option, this would though take a few weeks.

If I can be of any further help please let me know.

Kind regards

I looked at buying from the states, however with the weight of the disks, postage was going to be twice as much as the disks themselves and then I would have been hit for import on the combined value of the disks and postage. Worked out at roughly the same cost as buying here in the UK
