anyone used one of those MP3 FM units (the type that broadcast your MP3 tunes via FM to your unit)
Ive seen a "TeckNet FM29A USB Flash Memory MP3 Modulator" on Amazon. Anyone used one of these (or similar)?

Unless you live in the middle of nowhere, you'll never find a clear frequency, and if you do, the sound quality is still poor at best compared to installing a proper line in connecting to the vacant changer socket on your head unit.

There's several modules on the market. I had an XCar Link in my 6 (with BOSE) which worked well enough and had fantastic sound quality. Just plugs into the vacant changer socket in the head unit.

I use the inbuilt FM transmitter on my Nokia N97, allows you to set a transmission frequency exactly, funny when your sat in traffic the people around you trying to re-tune the radio because all of a sudden Radio 1 has been hijacked by some of my music collection. I was amazed by the strength of signal and range.

Neither did i until i got the phone. Also got in-built GPS so i use it as Sat-Nav with a windscreen mount cradle designed for the phone. With a 32GB hard drive its got all my music on too. Kills two birds with one stone. Obviously its an expensive choice if you buy outright but with a contract its cheap. Just wanted to give you an idea of another option. A mate has the XCar Link, seems good enough.

Xcarlink was simple to fit in the 6, so i assume the 3 will be the same. Cheers
