As i'm off to Sweden tomorrow i won't be around when the site closes so gunna say 'see you later' now. Thanks to Xorro for bringing a community together, its been quite a friendly and informative forum. As i have no PC if someone with a bit of spare time could go through the forum and copy/paste into Word the important posts etc so we don't lose them forever, e.g. Reference data topics and all topics that contained useful stuff. That would be grand. Thanks. When i get back off holiday i will speak with a mate who builds websites and see if i can get a MPS Owners Club/Forum going so the community is not lost and Xorro can still be part of it (without the hassle and worry of being Admin). And thanks to everyone who has joined, hopefully will meet some faces soon at Japfest, lets not let the community go to waste. Cheers, MazdaTech (Andy T)

Have a great time and thanks for all the help and advice (that goes out to everyone else as well!)
I have saved reference data into word and will try to save some other stuff as well its just tricky to know where to stop!
It may be worth someone else doing as well in case the pc breaks and then we have a back up.
Pm sent with email address so you can contact me on your return

I have unused linux/php hosting so if you need a years free or something let me know - contributions of course welcome! i'm not big on php but I would suggest that instead of trying to back things up in word get a copy of the database or site from xorro the simpliest plan would to be to replicate this site on another host/domain no loss of data, members etc and perhaps do a redirect from the domain - or buy the domain from xorro? Sorry not sure of ther personal implications/desires of asset holders?? a move to another forum script is do able, again i'd prob just get the emails of all registered users and send a invite mail to join new forum but again some of the information here is usefull, it would be good to get the data from xorro and try and migrate. just my thoughts!!

It does sound easy as it's only the post contents not the actual site structure that we would need but obviously thats down to how Xorro feels about it and i'm in no position to say what will happen, up to Xorro to decide.

Well its not going to be that easy - the data is directly related to the forum structure - eg attachments and posts are all related to the forums ids and users etc if you take the data alone you will have to find info that you want to keep and some how translate it into the new forum - achievable but not easy i'd say the quickest, and perhaps the cleanest would be to start again - get a list of forum members and start from stratch the safest would be a complete site copy???

We are starting from scratch. JDK has it in hand and is sorting the new site as we speak. Will keep you informed. Big thanks to JDK.
