I would say that if you read through all the threads on this site you will have a very good insight into the 6MPS.

Briefly it is a superb car and excellent value at today's used prices. A prestige car equivalent will cost a lot more. Apart from all the usual checks for a used car, I would pay particular attention to 2 things which will be costly to fix. First the clutch: If it is snatchy it can be replaced under manufacturer's warranty. If it is out of warranty then it will be expensive to replace. Second the turbo: If you see any sign of smoke from the exhaust and it is out of warranty then it will be expensive to replace.

Chances are that you will be OK. The turbo problem is usually caused by people who drive the car hard and don't allow time for the engine to cool down before switching off. It burns the seals. As the 6MPS is more of a high speed cruiser with superb traction rather than a boy racer special it is likely that it will not have been abused.

This car now seems to be attracting a lot of attention and used values are rising. As my brother in law says it is one of the best stealth cars ever. Best of luck in finding a good one.

its also worth travelling for the right one. I came across one that was very local to me and for an 07 plate was very shoddy and was up for more than others elsewhere in the country.
